DIRECTIONS Make sure you are familiar with Photoshop, and understand how to use this file BEFORE purchasing.
· Purchase, and then download the "BLAMtone_template.zip" file to your DESKTOP from the email sent to you.
· Mac users with built-in compression capabilities, double click the .zip file to decompress. Drag the .tif file out onto your desktop.
· PC users will need WINZIP or a similar compression program. Double click the .zip file to decompress. Drag the .tif file out onto your desktop.
· Open PHOTOSHOP.
· Go: FILE, then OPEN, and locate the "BLAMtone_template.tif" file on your desktop. Open it. You will see a white 11"x17" document.
· Make sure your LAYERS palette is open. Go: WINDOWS, then LAYERS to turn on.
· In the LAYERS palette, you will see the 5 layers that constitute the template. From the top down these are: ART, WHITE 1, TONE 1, WHITE 2, TONE 2.
· Place your scanned black and white lineart drawing on the ART layer, and change the ART layer to MULTIPLY in the top left corner of the LAYERS palette. (TONES WILL NOT SHOW THROUGH IF YOU SKIP THIS.)
· Make sure your TOOLS palette is open. Go: WINDOW, then TOOLS.
· In the TOOLS palette, select the ERASER tool.
· Select the WHITE 1 layer in the LAYERS palette, and use the ERASER tool on it as if you were using the BRUSH TOOL. Essentially, you are erasing parts of the WHITE 1 layer so that the TONE 1 layer shows through.
· If you want even darker tone, select the WHITE 2 layer, and use the ERASER tool on the areas you've already erased on the WHITE 1 layer.
· Only areas you've already erased on WHITE 1 will show the darker tone on WHITE 2.
